Overview
The Vascular Surgery Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) meeting is a regularly scheduled, peer-reviewed forum for the multidisciplinary discussion of clinical cases involving complications, adverse outcomes, or unexpected events. The goal is to promote continuous quality improvement, identify opportunities for system enhancements, and support a culture of safety and learning. Each case is reviewed in a non-punitive environment to foster open discussion, encourage education, and reinforce best practices in vascular surgical care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:

  1. Identify and analyze contributing factors to surgical complications and adverse outcomes in vascular procedures to support evidence-based improvements in patient care
  2. Describe a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous learning through structured case review and multidisciplinary discussion
  3. Review lessons learned from case reviews to enhance clinical decision-making, procedural techniques, and patient safety practices within the vascular surgery team
