Overview
This Symposium will provide residents the opportunity to present their research projects and discuss perspectives on the broad range of orthopaedic knowledge, care, and surgical practice. Dr. Mehlman and resident speakers will provide a forum for the scientific, clinical, and economic views of orthopaedic surgery to better prevent and treat musculoskeletal disease.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:

  1. Discuss resident education on current clinical practice, relevant basic science, practice management in preparation to become competent and ethical orthopaedic surgeons
  2. Identify a foundation for the practice of evidence-based, practical, and cost-effective orthopaedic care
  3. Describe current basic science, state-of-the art procedures, and technology into clinical orthopaedic practice
