Advanced Pediatric Life Support

Advanced Pediatric Life Support is a national course provided for nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and physicians who are dealing with the acute assessment and management of pediatric presentations. This course will provide didactic and hands on instruction in the simulation center which will be vital to the practice of pediatric medicine.  Please contact Becky Bluett [email protected] to register.

1. Discuss how to approach care of the pediatric patient from presentation of the child in the Emergency department or office.
2. Describe how to assess the severity of a pediatric patient and recognize the need to proceed with lifesaving interventions to stabilize their condition.
3. Demonstrate the skills of life saving procedures such as IO placement, foreign body removal and needle cricothyroidotomy.
