Overview

Addiction is a disease that can be treated, and these audios will help you stay up to date with the latest research that you can use in your addiction medicine practice. In each episode of Addiction Medicine Journal Club we discuss articles or studies related to addiction.

In this episode of Addiction Medicine Journal Club we discuss the article Short- and Longer-Term Benefits of Temporary Alcohol Abstinence During 'Dry January' Are Not Also Observed Among Adult Drinkers in the General Population: Prospective Cohort Study.

  1. Discuss the study design, results, and limitations of the research reviewed and how to apply those results to current practice
  2. Analyze how the conclusions of the featured article affect current practices and reflect on how this changes communications with and care of patients with alcohol use disorder
  3. Discuss the Dry January and other temporary abstinence initiatives and how they impact patient care

Addiction Medicine Journal Club: Dry January - Episode 5

This educational activity features a program on Addiction Medicine article review.

Expiration: This enduring material activity was published on 05/01/22 and qualifies for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM for 19 months following its publication (until December 31, 2023).
