Overview

This activity reviews the process for escalation and investigation of high-risk events reported to the WellSpan Medical Group (WMG).  

Expiration: This enduring material activity was published on October 20, 2020. This enduring material activity qualifies for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (TM) for 26 months following its publication (until December 31, 2022).

Requirements: Read the overview, complete the Pre-Test, read the included policy/flowchart, complete the Post-Test, and complete the evaluation form in order to receive CME credit for this activity. The post-test requires a score of 80% to pass with 3 attempts to successfully complete the post-test.

This activity is designed to review the WellSpan Medical Group process for escalation and investigation of high-risk complaints.

Expiration: This enduring material activity was published on October 19, 2020. This enduring material activity qualifies for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (TM) for 26 months following its publication (until December 31, 2022)

Requirements: Read the overview, complete the Pre-Test, open/read the journal article(s) complete the Post-Test, and complete the evaluation form in order to receive credit for this activity. The post-test requires a score of 80% to pass with 3 attempts to successfully complete the post-test.

  1. List high-risk complaints which will trigger the escalation and investigation process.
  2. Describe the overall process, and support for physicians/providers/employees, for reporting, escalation, and investigation of high-risk complaints.
  3. List typical members of the Issue Escalation Team (IET) for high-risk complaints.
  4. Discuss the time period for the Issue Escalation Team (IET) to meet/review high-risk complaints.
