Overview
Recorded from Primary Care IM/FM Grand Rounds on August 13, 2026. Discusses a clear definition of neuroplastic pain & the knowledge base for promoting understanding of treatments and communication with patients, as well as treatment options.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:

  1. Differentiate nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic pain using clinical features obtainable in a routine office visit.
  2. Describe mechanism-directed treatment of nociplastic pain and the factors that determine the intensity of care a given patient requires.
  3. Describe pain reprocessing therapy and the evidence supporting behavioral treatment as a primary intervention for nociplastic pain.
